Adoption Info for Cats or Dogs

Do you think you’re ready to adopt a FURiend?

There are so many questions to consider when adopting a companion animal, here are just a few to think about as you begin to explore your options in finding your FURever FURiend…

Am I a dog or a cat person?
Do I have time to train a puppy or would I prefer an older dog?
How much time do I have to spend on training, exercise and socialization?
What breed or mix of breeds is best for me?
Do I understand what the needs are of the breed I am interested in?

These are just a few questions that we can help you answer during our adoption process to help make sure that you and your new companion are the best match for each other.

STEP 1: Click on the link to view available FURiends who are ready for adoption listed on PetFinder.com.

Adoption fees may vary based on the rescue. To find the adoption fees please review the pet descriptions as it should be listed. Fees should typically include an overall health exam, updating vaccines, spaying/neutering, flea treatment and microchip registration.

STEP 2: OUR ADOPTION PROCESS

  1. We do require an application PRIOR to meeting any pet.
  2. Just a reminder our rescues are in home environments, and all visits are by appointment only.
  3. Applicants are required to provide references and agree to a home check PRIOR to adoption.
  4. Although fenced yards are generally required for many of our rescues, we have found that some pets will  BUT  do quite well in an apartment or in alternative home lifestyles as long as there is a means to control and provide for them safely.  Please review the pet description to see if a fenced yard is required.
  5. Please read ALL pet information carefully for the animal you are interested in. Please contact us if you have questions about any of our adoptees adoption requirements.

STEP 3: SUBMIT AN APPLICATION to meet your next FURever companion.
PLEASE NOTE: All applications are reviewed and processed as we receive them. However due to be a 100% volunteer run operation and most of our volunteers are working full-time. While others are attending to the needs of our rescues currently awaiting adoption.

All of our adoptions are considered “closed adoptions”to ensure that privacy issues are maintained. Unless agreed upon by BOTH parties, personal information about previous or future animal placements will NOT be exchanged. All information is directed through us and kept confidential unless otherwise requested by adopter and approved by our rescue.

Please be patient and understanding as we respond to dozens of emails daily, while we do attempt to respond as quickly as possible, our general response time is within 2 business days. However, during holidays or during “heavy” intake times throughout the year it may take a little extra time.
